An extraordinary testament to progressive architecture and ingenious engineering, this stunning, 15-storey block-long building offers magnificent glass curtain walls with a rhythm of clear panes intermixed with vibrant hues of red and blue. Jean Nouvel has conveived a building in which glass acts as both a presence, as in massively scaled transparent sliding walls, and an absence, i.e. the disappearing floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in (text from website project).
