Edgemar Development
Edgemar is a small-scale commercial/art development on Santa Monica's Main Street. The project is one of Gehry's village-like complexes, arranged around a courtyard. It consists of five buildings and three tower structures in a variety of shapes and materials. A former egg factory - now a theatre - has been modified and sheathed in copper and green-glazed tile. The ground floor of the curved building is covered in galvanized metal; the second floor is gray stucco. One tower is enclosed with chain-link mesh, one is a greenhouse structure, and the third is an open, steel-framed, irregular cube. The restaurant at the rear of the property is housed in two, wood-framed former dairy structures (text from http://www.timelessearth.net).
