Torre de las Telecomunicaciones

Located in a prominent site overlooking the port of Montevideo, this building serves as the headquarters of Uruguay's national telecommunications company, ANTEL. The tower - with its curved tip - houses the main offices and is the principal profile in the Montevideo skyline. The architectural program is materialized in different pavilions, separating the public areas, a multi-purpose hall, an auditorium, a daycare facility for the children of employees, a parking structure and an open park with an amphitheatre. It is expected that the whole complex will become a pole of development of an important but neglected neighbourhood (text from architect's website).
