From our office here in Rotterdam we were dreaming about a location for the holidays that combined a rich history, culture with a sultry summer vibe. However, summer or winter – you can’t go wrong with Lisbon! So we’re very glad to announce the city as our next Mi Destination for July and August.

Lisbon is actually one of the oldest cities in the world; in extend even the oldest city in Western Europe. And over the last years it has been rising as ‘the new capital of cool’! After the recession, we see the steep hills filing with cranes and the city is renewing quickly with creative energy.

So next to historical sights, you can find plenty of hipster hangouts and food courts. Although the green wine and fish restaurants are indispensable for your Portugal experience! In these next months we’ll take you together with our MIMOA mayors to broad variety the city has to offer.

Your favourite hotspots?

Lisbon collage 2You can definitely see this broad range reflected in all projects on our website! Ranging from musea and research centres (Museo do Oriente, Júlio Pomar Centre, Lisbon Oceanarium and ofcourse MAAT, the new Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology ) to the bridge crossing the Tagus (Ponte Vasco da Gama). And from great pavilions (Atlantic Pavilion, Pavilion of Knowledge, Bar à Margem) to interesting shops (Icecreamshop Artisani, Optic Store André) and shading surfaces (Coffeeshop and shading surface).

We’d like to call on you to share your Lisbon favourites with us! Feel free to rate our existing listings on MIMOA. And hopefully, you’ll be able to add new locations and projects, via our online form. Login and go to menu > projects > add a project)or you can email us at editor@mimoa.eu.
