MIMOA Layar is here!

We are proud to announce the availability of a MIMOA content layer for the fascinating augmented reality application Layar. Download Layar at the Android Market, the App Store or with iTunes right now, select the MIMOA layer and enjoy an ┤Architecture Enriched Reality¬.

Layar is a free application on your mobile phone which shows what is around. It is a new kind of browser for smart!=phones. The camera view is over!=layed by online infor!=mation of the MIMOA website. By holding the phone in front of you like a camera, you can see all information of architecture around you.
For all points of interest which are displayed on the screen, information about the building is shown at the bottom of the screen. You can see how far away the building is located and where to go. A perfect travel mate!

27th International Architectural Conference
Piran Days of Architecture
Piran, Slovenia
21 & 22 November 2009

Two days filled with lectures, exhibitions, a documentary film. Under the honorary patronage of Maro÷ ńefcovic (Member of European Commission, responsible for Education, Training, Culture and Youth) and Karl Viktor Erjavec (Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning of The Republic of Slovenia, who will grant the 2009 Piranesi Award). The days of Architecture certainly mean one of the most important contributions in the field of promotion of Slovene architecture in the context of a broader European space. The conference will bring face to face nine different architectural viewpoints from different continents.

Looking back: MIMOA Event 09

The weekend of Saturday the 31th of October the city of Rotterdam was packed with architects:
the architecture film festival was programming 120 movies and managed to triple its visitors; the IABR had a succesfull weekend focussing on the live of Jane Jacobs; Friday the auditorium at symposium Architecture 2.0 was fully filled with 700 architects, listening to more famous architects. In the middle of all this, MIMOA was celebrating their second birthday.
