MIMOA newsletter #28

7.500 MIMOA members and counting..

We're proud to let you know we've reached another milestone: since last week MIMOA counts over 7.500 registered members.
Thank you all for being part of MIMOA and its success. Just over two years ago we launched MIMOA, not knowing what would happen and how rapidly MIMOA would grow. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all: all 7.500 members, all dedicated contributors and contented users, everyone who has helped us creating MIMOA by sharing their comments, compliments and critics. Keep up the good work, because we need you!

Go West Project: 100 days of stories

The Go West Project has invited taxi drivers from cities in Central and Western China to drive their taxis to Shenzhen. The performance is part of the Shenzhen / Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture, that started 6 December 2009. During the first week of the Biennale the taxis will drive around Shenzhen as mobile pavilions.
Visitors of the Biennale can take a ride in the taxis through Shenzhen. This way they can experience the new metropolises in Central and Western China. They can see the spectacular changes in pictures of new skylines and old neighbourhoods; hear the latest songs from the region. But most importantly: they can listen to the stories the taxi drivers have to tell about their own cities.

MIMOA Event 09 Movie, by Hugh Fraser

One of the attendees of the MIMOA Event tour, on October 31 was Hugh Fraser. All the way from South Africa, he joined us with 25 international architects in a cycling tour through the city of Rotterdam. He created an amazing report of this special day, by taking hundreds of pictures with his camera all day long and turning it into a unique video. Enjoy!

Go see more images and reports here. Maybe we meet you next year?
