The Vancouver Convention Centre (formerly known as the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre - VCEC), in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is one of Canada's largest convention centres and regarded as one of the leading convention centres in the world. Built on the original Pier B-C on Vancouver's downtown waterfront, the centre first served as the Canada Pavilion for the World's Fair Expo in 1986. It has more than 470.000 ft (13.936 m) of space, including flexible pre-function and function space totalling 473.523 ft on two levels, a 91.000 ft column-free exhibit hall, divisible into three halls, a 54.000 ft column-free ballroom, divisible into three rooms and 72 meeting rooms from 500 to 6.500 ft.
