Moto is a Japanese sushi and robata grill restaurant in the Drieharingstraat, an alley in Utrecht designated as a new restaurant-street. The restaurant is a aggregation of a couple of rooms with different heights of a former factory, merged together by removing the walls through out the years. The bar is the unifying object which separates the public part of the restaurant from the two open kitchens, the robata-kitchen and sushi-kitchen. The floor and fixed furniture are all made of the same pinewood floorboards, which gives the restaurant a natural and robust look, corresponding to the look of a grill restaurant. For the bar these floorboards are stained to a dark-brown colour. The floor bends up to a wall behind the sushi kitchen, forming the background of the sushi chef. In the back of the restaurant a cosy seating-niche is created. It looks like a indentation in this wall, by using the same floorboards on all sides of the niche.
