The University College of Bergen is visible in the cityscape with a new front square, where existing railway buildings converted into student facilities emerge in constellation with the new building complex. The administration wing of the college rises as a campanile towards the square and the main entrance from Inndalsveien. The old railway deposit buildings contains social functions such as students house, canteen, library and gymnasium uniting the 6000 students in the new "campus town". The auditoriums surrounding the common student functions have open views and access to light giving courtyards. Classrooms of different sizes, open study zones and meeting spaces for common use are located on the two lower levels in the new house. Awards: Bergen municipality´s prize for architecture and urban design, 2014. Innovation Prize for universal design and accessibility - category: furniture and interior design, 2015.
