Cox Architecture, Architects 61
location Singapore
function bridge
contributed by Arch1Day

This bridge is the pedestrian link between the CBD and Marina Bay. The concept was to curve the bridge in a way that it arrives fluently at both sides. This plan also allowed the bridge to connect in its center to a vehicular bridge's footpath. To seek a lightweight contrast to the vehicular bridge, the architects designed a double helix structure with integrated canopy panels of glass and perforated steel. The bridge is illuminated at night by ribbons of LED lighting.
